Celplast Metallized Products Ltd. is in the process of installing the first of it’s kind large scale metallizer to use patented Metacoat® technology, which adds a protective top-coating inside the metallizing chamber. This will produce REFLECT-MET® on webs of up to 98”. REFLECT-MET is a low-E (0.05 emissivity), corrosion resistant, metallized PET facer for use in reflective and radiant barrier building insulation, VIPs (vacuum insulation panels), clothing and protective packaging.
By metallizing and top-coating in one pass, the new technology will provide shortened lead times, giving customers increased flexibility to manage their business. In addition, the building insulation industry has waited a long time for wide web availability, and with customized widths of up to 98”, facer seaming can now be a thing of the past.
